We're a Greensboro, NC design and development studio that has been helping small businesses look sharp, sell online, and work smarter with technology for over three decades. Here's who we are and where we came from.
Conxion Visual Communications started in the 1990s as a one-person studio with a straightforward idea: small businesses deserve the same quality of design and technology that larger companies take for granted. That idea hasn't changed. The tools have just gotten a lot more interesting.
Over 31+ years we've grown from print and early-web work into a full-service studio covering web design, ecommerce, brand design, desktop and mobile app development, web hosting, and — most recently — AI integration and agentic automation. We work primarily with small businesses across the Piedmont Triad (Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem, and Asheboro, NC) and with clients nationwide who need a reliable partner that actually answers the phone.
I've been at the intersection of design and technology my entire career — never fully one or the other, always both. When the web was new, that mix was unusual. Now it's just called "full-stack," but the mindset has always been the same: make things that actually work and look great doing it.
I started Conxion Visual Communications in the 1990s because I saw small businesses consistently underserved — handed cookie-cutter templates or overcharged by agencies that treated them as an afterthought. My approach has always been to show up as a real partner: someone who explains the technology, answers the phone, and builds something you're proud to hand out the URL for.
Good design isn't decoration — it's clarity. And good technology isn't impressive for its own sake; it's useful. Those two ideas drive every project I take on at Conxion Visual Communications.
Over 31+ years I've worked across brand identity, print, web design, UI design, ecommerce, app development, SEO, and now AI integration and agentic automation. The common thread isn't any single technology — it's understanding what a client actually needs and building the shortest, most reliable path to that outcome.
These days a lot of my energy goes into applied AI: helping businesses understand how local LLMs, agentic workflows, and AI-powered tools can genuinely save time and improve operations — without giving up control of their data or paying for capabilities they'll never use. It's the most interesting design and engineering problem I've worked on, and we're still early.
Outside of client work, I'm usually tinkering — home lab experiments, new AI models, automation setups, the occasional hardware project. Building things is just how I think. If you're curious about the same stuff, we'll probably get along fine.
